LONELY MARKERS by Larry Casso ($300.00)

Watercolor on paper, 10 x 14.5

I will never forget my first visit to the lovely town of Jackson, La. The Methodist church founded Centenary College there in !825 and many historical events took place there. I found a side trail through the woods and discovered a pristine cemetery. The site was the scene of a civil war battle and the buildings served as a primitive hospital. Many from both sides of the conflict are buried there in unmarked graves.
